Privacy
Core study data is local and iCloud-first. Selected content may be processed by server AI only when you run an AI feature.
This document reflects the storage, sync, and AI processing behavior of the current public beta.

We process PDFs, handwriting, notes, recordings, transcripts, review cards, and generated files that you create. Sign in with Apple may provide an identifier and, if you choose, a name or email. Support requests may include device details, screenshots, logs, and attachments you send.
Study material is stored in the app container by default. If you enable iCloud sync, files and metadata move between Mac, iPad, and iPhone through your Apple account and the iCloud.com.ssocnote.app CloudKit container. SSOCNote does not change your Apple account settings for you.
When you use Sign in with Apple, the server may store a SSOCNote user ID, Apple provider identifier, optional name and email, session-token hashes, sync entitlement, AI Credits, and account status. We use these records for sign-in, security, entitlement checks, and support.
When you run Document AI, lecture transcription or summaries, study sheets, review cards, or file generation, prompts, selected excerpts, audio, attachments, sanitized tool results, and where needed a current-page preview may be sent to the server and configured AI processor. The full library is used only when you explicitly request that scope.
We process account, sync, and AI requests to perform the service contract and follow your instructions. Metering, recovery, security, fraud prevention, and audit records may rely on legitimate interests or legal obligations. Support mail is handled with consent or legitimate interests appropriate to the request.
After paid billing launches, App Store transaction IDs, original transaction IDs, app account tokens, notification IDs, product IDs, grants, charges, and subscription status may be recorded for verification, refunds, fraud prevention, and support. The current public beta uses test Credits and does not charge real payments.
Expired or revoked sessions are eligible for cleanup after 45 days, expired or consumed asset tickets after 7 days, and completed AI result JSON and detailed errors after 30 days. Account data remains until deletion; support mail remains until resolution and required follow-up ends. Billing, ledger, transaction, security, and audit records may be minimized and retained only as needed for accounting, disputes, fraud prevention, and law.
Account deletion revokes active sessions, unlinks Apple identifiers, removes profile name and email, and deletes or anonymizes AI requests, jobs, and relay data that need not be retained. Local files, your iCloud data, Apple-managed purchase records, and legally required minimum records are not automatically deleted with the account.
Apple, OpenAI or the configured AI provider, AWS, ImprovMX, and Google may process information for sync, AI, hosting, security, web delivery, and support mail. Data may be processed outside your country according to provider regions. SSOCNote relies on applicable contracts and provider safeguards; current providers are listed on the Subprocessors page.
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection and complain to a competent supervisory authority. SSOCNote uses reasonable safeguards such as encrypted transport, token hashes, least privilege, and audit logging, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
The website stores only local preferences such as language and does not use advertising identifiers, third-party tracking analytics, precise location, contacts, or calendars. SSOCNote is designed around university study; users below the legal age of consent need guardian authorization. Material policy changes will update the version and effective date and be announced through the site or app.
