Only when you run it
Writing notes, editing PDFs, and syncing with iCloud do not start server AI. Processing begins only when you run Document AI, transcription, summaries, study sheets, review cards, or file generation.

When you use Document AI, lecture transcription and summaries, review cards, or study sheets, selected inputs and prompts may be processed by server-side AI services.

This document reflects the storage, sync, and AI processing behavior of the current public beta.
Context you choose
Document AI starts with the current document. Current page, selection, document, full library, web, and attachment scopes expand according to your choice and request. A visual page preview is included only when visual understanding is needed.
Audio and lecture notes
Audio you record may be sent for lecture transcription and summaries. While selected Live Preview is active, only microphone audio is streamed; device audio follows post-capture transcription.
Agent tools and document changes
Document Agent may use plans, safe in-app tool calls, result summaries, and generated artifacts. The server proposes work; the app controls actual changes through preview, confirmation, apply, and undo. Raw hidden reasoning or chain-of-thought is not displayed.
Processor and results
Selected inputs may be sent to the OpenAI API or an equivalent AI processor configured by SSOCNote. Responses, artifact manifests, and status data may be processed to recover results and attach them to the relevant document.
Retention and Credits
Completed AI result JSON and detailed errors are scrubbed after 30 days. Success state, feature, usage, and Credit changes may be retained as needed for reliability, support, and ledger integrity. Provider token counts and internal costs are not presented as user charges.
Choice and requests
You can use the free note workspace without AI. Remove sensitive material and select only the context needed before sending. Send access, deletion, or restriction requests about AI processing to privacy@ssocnote.com.
