AI Data Processing

The AI scope is set before it works.

When you use Document AI, lecture transcription and summaries, review cards, or study sheets, selected inputs and prompts may be processed by server-side AI services.

Only the scope you choose

Processing is based on the document, page, or selection you ask AI to use.

Only when you run AI

Writing notes, editing documents, and iCloud sync do not start server AI processing.

Usage is shown as Credits

The app shows balance and recent use, not token counts or internal provider costs as charges.

User-controlled scope

Document AI answers from the current document by default and uses current page, selected material, full library, web, attachment scope, or a current-page visual preview only when the user chooses or asks for it.

Audio and document excerpts

Selected audio, document excerpts, current-page previews, images, and prompts may be processed by server-side AI for lecture transcription, summaries, explanations, exam questions, review cards, and study sheets.

Agent tool results

Document Agent may send sanitized app-side tool results back to the server. The server proposes work; actual document changes run through the app’s editor, save, undo, and sync paths.

AI job recovery

To recover interrupted requests, SSOCNote may store clientJobId, feature, status, result JSON, error code, and error message for a limited retention window before result payloads are scrubbed.

No hidden reasoning display

The app may show user-facing execution summaries, previews, and apply status, but it does not expose raw hidden reasoning or chain-of-thought.

No hidden cost display

The app shows AI Credits balance and recent usage only. It does not show tokens, USD cost, or internal model pricing as realtime user charge information.
