Common topics

1. Microphone or system audio permissions

If lecture recording or macOS device-audio capture does not start, check the relevant system permissions first.

2. AI Pass feature failures

Results can fail depending on audio quality, API response issues, long-file chunking, or network conditions across transcription, summaries, flashcards, exam sheets, or document understanding.

3. Local data deletion and recovery

The current structure is local-first. If a user runs a full local data reset, the data stored on that device is removed.

4. AI Pass and plans

Notes, library organization, document editing, handwriting, and iCloud sync remain free. Paid AI features are provided through AI Pass, and pricing, included features, representative usage, and restore guidance are kept aligned across this page and the pricing page.

App review notes

  • SSOCNote supports PDF import, PDF annotation, lecture recording, AI summaries, flashcards, and study sheet generation.
  • The split between free core features and paid AI Pass features follows the pricing page.
  • On macOS, “device audio recording” uses Apple’s official picker UI.
  • AI features only run when a user explicitly requests them.
  • Users can clear AI text cache, temporary files, and all local data from settings.
